Kenneth S. Springer

Founder and Senior Advisor

Kenneth S. Springer founded CRI in 1991. He is a former Special Agent with the FBI, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a widely recognized expert in due diligence investigations, business intelligence and corporate risk management.

Ken led CRI for over 25 years as its Chief Executive, growing the company from two employees to a team of 30 who help hundreds of clients make informed investment and hiring decisions. Today, he works closely with CRI’s leadership team, providing guidance and maintaining many of our long-standing relationships with valued clients and trusted partners. Ken still enjoys the opportunity to roll his sleeves up and advise clients on delicate situations that can benefit from his expertise.

With over four decades of professional experience, Ken is a frequent speaker at industry events focusing on educating investors and business leaders on due diligence and risk management best practices aimed at protecting your capital and reputation. He has been quoted in leading publications and appeared on major TV networks to discuss fraud, due diligence and risk management. He is the co-author, along with Joelle Scott, of “Digging for Disclosure: Tactics for Protecting Your Firm’s Assets from Swindlers, Scammers and Imposters.”

Prior to CRI, Ken was President of Bishops Services, an investigative firm now part of Sterling Talent Solutions. Ken is an active member of several industry and professional associations including: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Council of International Investigators (CII), National Law Enforcement Associates, SIFMA Legal & Compliance, Society of Former Agents of the FBI and Vistage. Ken received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Siena College.

Ken is often repeating his own quips (“in our business we call that a clue”), hoping someone will capture them all in a book (sorry, Yogi Berra). Ken also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his seven grandchildren.
