Purpose
Corporate Resolutions’ Ethics Hotline is designed to provide additional checks and balances for small and medium-sized firms. This hotline allows investors and management to learn about any unethical behavior that takes place within the corridors of their office. Not only is this type of information rarely gathered it is often only discovered when it is too late. The Ethics Hotline prevents unnecessary public disclosure of problematic issues.
Our Ethics Hotline will help to prevent fraud, theft of inventory or intellectual property, substance abuse/workplace violence, sexual harassment, discrimination, vendor kickbacks, external frauds, conflicts of interest, falsification of company records, violation of non-compete agreements or other forms of unethical behavior.
How It Works
Corporate Resolutions will act as an independent 3rd party intermediary to receive and document complaints. In order to avoid false complaints, we will assist in determining authenticity of complaints received and will coordinate with counsel and/or others the proper course of action required thereafter.
Implementation of the Ethics Hotline will help to foster employee awareness and loyalty, deter unacceptable behavior and serve as a vehicle for employees to anonymously report wrongdoing in the workplace. Independent oversight will ensure a complaint is received and handled professionally.
In addition, the hotline assists a company in complying with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which recommends the standards for corporate compliance programs.
The hotline acts as a self regulation compliance tool for companies to demonstrate to investors or regulators that they are committed to expose wrongdoing.
Hotline Operations
Corporate Resolutions provides a confidential, secure Ethics Hotline twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year (with multi-lingual capabilities and availability for international access).
Clients of this service will be given a toll free number for dissemination to their employees and vendors. (Scripted educational materials are available.)
Getting Started
To subscribe to the Ethics Hotline the client provides basic information about their company. They designate a board member or compliance person for Corporate Resolutions to contact when any complaints or calls have been received.
Employees will be provided with both an 800 telephone number and an email address, so the employees can choose whichever method they prefer when reaching out to us.
